I love books! This is why I wanted to teach English/Language Arts. I get to talk about books for a living. There's no greater profession.
I graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in English. Later, I started teaching 9th and 10th grade ELA, and I've never looked back. I enjoy making books and learning fun, if at all possible. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, which you can tell as soon as you walk into my classroom. But those are not the only books I love. I enjoy reading fiction, nonfiction, historical books, and even some biographies.
In addition to reading (and, of course, writing!), I also love to go hiking, camping, and traveling. I took a trip to Tahiti, down in French Polynesia, and it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. I loved it. I'm planning on taking a cruise later on this year down to Latin America. I feel so lucky to get to go to new places and do new things.
Recently, I got a new puppy. He's a German Shepherd. Due to my love of books, I named him Remus (from Harry Potter). He has been so much fun. He keeps me very busy. He loves to go on walks, spend time with me, and sneaking up on the furniture to get in more cuddle time. He's been such a joy to have. I absolutely love him.
