Hi! I am Kelly Keel Cabreros, and I am excited to be teaching English 8 (and English 10 & 11 at SFHS). I love how the study of language and literature allows us to share our stories with one another. I am passionate about exploring new worlds, cultures, and the beauty of our connections. My college journey began many years ago at the University of Oklahoma, and I recently graduated from Utah Valley University with my English Education degree.
I am married to Ellison, and I am the mother of four boys, Bryn, Rhys, Cael, and Declan, and two pups, Toli' and Tsuki. I am originally from Oklahoma, so the Sooner pride runs strong in our family! We watch and play a lot of sports—especially football and lacrosse— although you will usually find me on the sidelines cheering and enjoying a good book!
Some things I love: time with family & loved ones; being outdoors; road trips, traveling, and going anywhere there's a river or ocean; air conditioning; reading and watching British mysteries; attending cultural events; making fry bread with my boys; history; art; ghost stories; thunderstorms; my husband's cooking; Diet Dr Pepper with blackberry & coconut, cheese enchiladas, pecan pie, and ½ banana ½ coconut shave ice!
