Mrs. Mortensen will be teaching 8th grade U.S. History this year. We asked Mrs. Mortensen to introduce herself and this is what she had to say:
Rachel Mortensen is new to Nebo School District and excited to work with the fantastic faculty and students. Rachel graduated from Dixie State University, majoring in history with an emphasis in social science teaching. She has the opportunity to teach 8th grade U.S. History at SFJH. Rachel is passionate about the subject and loves the complicated perspectives and stories learned in history. Her favorite part of the 8th-grade curriculum is our country's founding and the Constitution's creation.
Rachel also loves to be outside! She has grown up boating, skiing, hiking, and playing sports with her family and friends. In high school, she played a little bit of volleyball and lacrosse. Her favorite TV show is Modern Family, her favorite book is A Man's Search for Meaning, and her favorite movie is Cinderella. Overall, she is so excited to work at SFJH and can't wait for the 2022-2023 school year to start!
