SFJH FFA Members Earn Degrees

Submitted by david.thacker on

On December 14, 2016 the Spanish Fork FFA had a degree ceremony.

We met at Spanish Fork Jr. High where the Discovery Degree, Green-hand Degree, and Chapter Degree were awarded. Students earn these awards from their agriculture projects they do outside of school.

Before we started the degree ceremony, the high school officers did the opening ceremony. During the opening, FFA members working on their record books could receive help getting started or get help finishing.

Once everyone got their awards, pictures were taken and treats were served.

Parents, Students and Friends –

Reminder - End of Second Term

Did you realize there are only eight school days left in this term after Christmas Break?  Please check with teachers to get any missing work gathered, completed and turned in. The holiday break provides extra time if needed, to make up school work that could help raise a grade.  Take advantage of the opportunity!

SFJHS Student One Step Closer to State Competition

Submitted by david.thacker on

The Patriot's Pen program sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars is designed to foster patriotism by allowing students the opportunity to express their opinions on democracy based on an annual theme. This year the theme is "The America I Believe In." SFJHS first-place winner, Conner Gates, also won the district competition and will be advancing to the state competition. If he wins state, he will be advancing to the national competition. Good luck, Conner!

Submitted by david.thacker on

On December 8, several of our girls went on a field trip to the  Advanced Learning Center (ALC) for  the Computer Science Education Week. They were able to watch a 3D printer in action and participated in the "Hour of Code" where they write code for an hour. It was a lot of fun and they had a great time!

Penny Wars 2016

Submitted by david.thacker on

This year’s Penny Wars will be the best ever! We are challenging each 2nd period class to bring as much silver change as possible and deposit it in your 2nd period collection. Then you can drop off pennies in the collections of other teachers to count against the silver. There will be collections in every classroom that has a 2nd period. This year’s Penny Wars collections will be donated to the Warm the Souls charity run by the Nebo Credit Union. Penny Wars starts Monday and run all week.
