At the beginning of the school year, students walked into Mr. Whiting's classroom and were impressed by his two ball pythons. And now, almost six months later, we will be getting two new additions to his classroom zoo.
Mr. Whiting has found a female snake to breed with his male one. On Saturday, January 4th, his snakes tail’s had a link, which means that they are ready to breed. And he will give the 9-14 hatchlings that he expects to hatch to some of his students!
But that is not the only thing that he is getting as a class pet. The week before Christmas break, he told us that as a Christmas present, he will be buying—not goldfish--some glo-fish! These are genetically modified fish made to glow under a black light.
I am sure that many of his students are excited to have new snakes and glo-fish.
