Our Spanish classes have been incorporating culture. Students learned how to make “papel picado” and “flor de cempazuchilt”. We have been learning the history of Dia de los Muertos as well and the meaning of the many symbols involved. Tomorrow we will have Yunuen Carrillo come to celebrate life with us for Dia de los Muertos. We are grateful to Yunuen who supports our school in this very meaningful way.
Please come and sing with us and enjoy the activities during lunch tomorrow, Wednesday, October 30th. This year we are celebrating the life of our former Principal, Principal Chris Loveless. You are invited to visit the ofrenda Latinos in Action and our Spanish classes made in his honor.
We will do more activities on Friday. Dia de los Muertos is celebrated November 1st and November 2nd.
