In Mr. Mortimer’s science class, students got up close and personal with the tiny structures that help plants breathe! Using microscopes, they prepared slides with real leaves to discover stomata—the small openings where gas exchange happens. These microscopic pores may be tiny, but they play a big role in photosynthesis and keeping plants (and us!) alive. It was a hands-on, eye-opening experience that made science come to life—one leaf at a time!
