Reading for Enjoyment Field Trip

Submitted by david.thacker on

Spanish Fork Jr. High’s Reading for Enjoyment class visited the guests at the Payson Veteran’s Home on April, 26th.  The students had practiced reading short stories and were excited to share them with the veterans.  After reading and visiting, the students got to participate in Noodle Ball and Yoga with the veterans.  Students were able to get to know some funny men and heard some great stories about their service to our country and their life after their service.

Decades Dance

Submitted by david.thacker on

The SFJHS Student Council worked hard to put on their final dance of the year. The "Decades Dance" was a hit! Students came dressed as their favorite decade with clothes ranging from 50's poodle skirts to 90's grunge. There were some great outfits and the best from each decade won a prize! The Student Council would like to thank everyone who came and give a shout-out to the awesome chaperones, administration, janitors, and DJ who helped bring everything together!

Awesome Talent at SFJH Poetry Slam

Submitted by david.thacker on

Spanish Fork Junior High’s annual Poetry Slam was held Thursday, April 20th in the Little Theater.  Slammers from across three grade levels performed to a packed house who snapped enthusiastically.  It was awesome!

Thirty-nine students participated.  To qualify, students needed to find and memorized poems of at least 12 lines.  While many students researched poets to find their poems, a significant number of students wrote poems especially for the slam.
