Students in 7th grade Language Arts played a fun variation of the old “Kick Me” trick this month to learn about analogies.
Instead of having a “kick me” sticker stuck on students’ backs, the stickers are words that are the answer to an analogy. Analogies are word pairs that show relationships between ideas such as hot is to cold as wet is to dry.
As students enter the classroom, each student is slapped on the back with a sticker. Then during class, students are up and about, looking at stickers on each others' backs as they search for the answer to each analogy. Fun!
