New Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Hailey Pittenger

Submitted by david.thacker on

I just graduated from BYU with my degree in Biological Science Education and I will be teaching 7th grade science. This is my first year teaching, and I am very excited to be at Spanish Fork Junior High. I love science because it allows me to learn about how the world around us works.

I enjoy taking walks, hiking, and am trying to get into rock climbing. I love reading, playing board games, and playing tennis. I love animals, especially dogs and turtles. I also enjoy traveling to new places and trying new foods.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Jarvis! I will be the choir teacher here at Spanish Fork Jr High, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to make music with you!

I just graduated from BYU in April with a degree in music education with a choral emphasis. I also just got married to the love of my life in April. You could say April was a pretty big month for me!

Hello! My name is Lisa Peterson. I am so excited to be a Lobo! I have been a 6th grade teacher for 13 years but now I'm ready for a new challenge. I will be teaching 7th and 8th grade math this year at SFJH. I believe in believing in every student, that each one has the potential to understand and do math. I also hate boring math classes.

I grew up in southern Nevada, near Las Vegas. I graduated from BYU in Math Education and am excited to teach where I student-taught! My husband is from Springville, UT so I really enjoy this area. We have a sweet pet rabbit, Grace Hopper (named after a mathematician, of course). I love to read, knit, hand-letter, and do basically anything crafty.

Dear SFJH Parents and Students,

We hope that you are having a good summer and this email finds you well. We are looking forward to having students back at school and beginning a new school year. We are preparing to come back to school following the state requirements and the Nebo District guidelines. See the email sent to all parents from Nebo School District last week, which outlines these guidelines. We will be sending information in the next couple of weeks with additional details regarding this school year at Spanish Fork Junior High.
