I am a recent BYU master's graduate in Mathematics Education. I will be teaching 8th grade math. I actually student taught at SFJH with Maddie Anderson a couple years ago under Jen Fong, so I am excited to be back! I grew up in Oregon, between Portland and Mt. Hood, so I love the green, and spring is my favorite season in Utah. I speak Spanish with an Ecuadorian lilt from having lived there for a year and a half. I have been married to my husband Brandon for two years and we have a 7-month-old son, Levi.

The great outdoors is my favorite place to be, and I enjoy going on hiking trips with my family. I played racquetball throughout high school and a year of college, and grew up skiing on Mt. Hood. I also enjoy playing tennis and pickleball, though I'm not as skilled in those. As for sports teams, I follow BYU football as well as the Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard. I'll occasionally root for the Oregon Ducks as well. Although I haven't been able to do it as much for leisure while in school, I love reading, particularly historical fiction and nonfiction. My favorite book is Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo. As for other media, I like playing Jackbox games with friends, and I especially enjoy movies and shows with character depth and intricate, intriguing plots. Good humor and uplifting messages are also appreciated (e.g., Ted Lasso). Lastly, while I don't eat out often, I enjoy the experience of trying new foods and restaurants.
