Valegrams

Submitted by david.thacker on

On Friday, February 14, the Spanish Fork Junior High Student Council delivered Valegrams to around the school. The way these work is that there are 3 types, there is a small candy, a regular sized candy, and a “Heart Attack”, which is where your “secret admirer” asks for the student council to put hearts all over a locker.

Mrs Philips class in library

Submitted by david.thacker on

Mrs. Phillips’s class comes once a week to the library to listen to a book and check out books. We have been reading Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White. This week, after reading from the book, we made Play-doh scenes. The students were very creative and talented with their sculptures. A fun time was had by all.

Kids Who Count - Early Intervention Services for Nebo Families

Submitted by david.thacker on

Since 1986, Kids Who Count has provided Early Intervention services to families of young children residing in the Nebo School District boundaries. We’ve helped thousands of families and children and we can help you. If you are concerned about your baby or toddler’s development or had a medical professional talk to you about some milestones your child hasn’t yet reached, you may be eligible for early intervention services. The purpose of Early Intervention is to enhance early growth and development in infants and toddlers under three, who have developmental delays or disabilities.

Job Shadow Day

Submitted by david.thacker on

On Friday, February 7th, it was an exciting day. All 7th graders had the incredible opportunity to explore an occupation. For all those people who didn’t know what they wanted to be when they grow up, they had the chance to follow around an employee to see what their company does, and what they do daily. And for all the people who had an idea of what they wanted to be in the future, they got some perspective of what the job would be like, or maybe found a job they were more interested in instead.

If you’d been walking through the halls of SFJH today, you would have heard a grooving beat coming from math teacher Brooke Cline’s room.  And when you stepped inside the door—30 totally engaged students showing off their fancy footwork as well as their comprehension of angles.  Here’s what Ms. Cline told us:

Book Fair is this month!

Submitted by david.thacker on

Spanish Fork Jr. High is raising money to buy books for Primary Children’s Hospital.  All donations received through Scholastic Book Fairs All for Books will be used to purchase books in Honor of Peyton Page.

There are lots of ways to help donate: start saving your loose change and drop it off at the book fair, add a monetary donation to your book purchase or buy a book for the hospital.
