Congratulations to the Orchestra

Submitted by david.thacker on

Last week the advanced 9th grade orchestra attended the state junior high orchestra festival, and they did an incredible job. They are one of the top few groups in the entire state, and scored superior ratings on all aspects of their playing. They have been so focused and worked so diligently as a team this year, and it really shows!

Written Word Power

Submitted by david.thacker on

As part of a real-world writing unit, students in Mrs. Thompson’s 8th grade English classes sent letters of compliment or complaint to companies of their choice. Not only did Sam Oldham receive a quick response from Blenders Eyewear, he also scored two new pairs of the popular sunglasses: Jaded Tigers and Phantom Boss Eclipses! Way to go, Sam! Learning to express concerns civilly is a skill we need more of in our society.

Movie star dress up day

Submitted by david.thacker on

Mr. Lister joined the fun of Teacher Appreciation week and dressed up as his favorite Hollywood Star today. He was the Pirate King from the Pirates of Penzance, but buttoned up his shirt a bit--you know, to align with the dress code.

Other teachers glammed up as if our hallways were a red carpet moment. We had Darth Vader and Bennie "the Jet" Rodriguez. We had Ms Frizzle teach as well. And we all had fun!

Even our students blinged it up for Hollywood Star Day!

Thank you to our amazing PTA to spoil our teachers with extra love this week!
