Spanish Fork Junior High is excited to welcome Neal Shusterman at the end of the month for an author’s assembly. Mr. Shusterman, author of the Unwind and Scythe YA novels, will be discussing writing and his books.

For Halloween today our entire PE and Health department dressed up as our very own Coach Nowell.

In Ms. Whiteside’s 8th grade math class, students explored the answer to the following question: How many stacked cups do you think it would take to reach the top of the table? 

We worked through different ways of stacking cups to see how linear graphs would compare with proportional graphs. We challenged student assumptions about all graphs needing to pass through the point (0,0).

And we had a great time transitioning from the theoretical, graphical representation to practicing with cups ourselves.

We won! At yesterday's theatre competitions, our students took first place in the musical number, "We Go Together", and Classical Scenes and 2nd place in Classical Monologue. We also received high marks for our two other scenes. Many of the students will be wearing their show shirts or costumes today to advertise our show tonight. Come out and support our theatre students!
