Cyber-bullying.  Identity theft.  Inappropriate content.  The internet can be a dangerous place, but it also has much to offer.  On Tuesday, November 18th, 2014, Josh Westover, an internet consultant, visited with students warning them of the dangers lurking online and sharing ideas on how to stay safe while surfing.

SFJH Honors Area Veterans

Submitted by david.thacker on

Spanish Fork Junior High honored area veterans on November 11th, 2014 with our annual Veteran’s Assembly.

As is tradition, SFJH students invited friend and family members who were veterans to attend with them.  The school was decorated with hundreds of red, white, and blue stars naming the family members of students and faculty who have served in the armed forces.

Art students in Mr. Dave Millman’s class did their part to honor our guests by creating pictures and writing tributes.

9th Grade Field Trip to the Krishna Temple

Submitted by david.thacker on

Ninth graders recently had an opportunity to attend a field trip to the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork.  The students were treated to a tour of the grounds including an introduction to the various animals and how the farm helps the temple be self-sufficient.  Students were then invited inside the temple where they participated in a presentation that focused on the culture of India and a few of the beliefs of Hinduism.  Afterwards, students were invited to the top of the temple were they received further instruction regarding the importance of religious mantras.  Followin
