Introducing Mr. Brad Gibson

Mr. Gibson will be new to Spanish Fork Junior High next year and will be teaching math and art. We asked Mr. Gibson to introduce himself and this is what he had to say:

"I was born in Salt Lake City and lived the majority of my life in Utah! I went to Timpview High School in Provo, Utah and spent a few years in Southern California where I graduated from Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, California. I received my Associate's Degree from Utah Valley University, my Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University, and my Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix. I am celebrating 25 blissful years of marriage with my wife, Amy, and we have 3 adorable children. The oldest is working on his PhD in Physics at Utah State University. The middle child is halfway through a Physics degree at Utah Valley University and just celebrated his first anniversary being married. Our youngest is at the Utah County Academy of Sciences and is working on an Associate's Degree in Math. I have been teaching 17 years and am excited about joining the team at Spanish Fork Junior High School! I love Art and Math and that is exactly what I get to do here. I will be teaching one 7th Grade Art Class and 5 sections of 7th Grade Math. My wife is finishing her Master's Degree in School Counseling and will be interning in the Counseling Office. Super excited about working with my wife! I love the outdoors ... swimming and enjoying the beauty of Utah! We visited Bear Lake this year and went out on a boat ... one of the highlights of this Summer with my family! I love to draw and have been teaching Summer drawing classes for the last three years for Nebo School District. The last book I read was "Visible Learning for Mathematics". I love the author, John Hattie, and his passion for improving education. I like to take my family to Discount Tuesday Movie Nights and we watch pretty much everything! My favorite game is PSYCH by Ellen Degeneres. You can play on your phone and its super fun! My best find this Summer was the restaurant by Bear Lake that is on a golf course and overlooks the lake. It was awesome to have family dinner there a few nights (Cooper's Restaurant). I believe strongly that every child can succeed. The student needs to believe in themselves and I will do everything in my power to support you!"
