All students are invited and encouraged to participate in this year’s Reflections contest. The theme is: What Is Your Story? Entries are due by October 14, 2016 - Pick up an application in the front office. Contest categories include: Dance Choreography – Film Production – Literature – Music Composition – Photography – Visual Arts. Do something amazing this year; participate in Reflections! Coordinator for Nebo Afterschool Program (4-H Clubs) Wanted
SFJHS has been awarded a grant to run a Nebo Afterschool Program this year - It will consist of clubs and activities that run every day after school. The coordinator position is the person that registers students, organizes the clubs and runs the administrative side of the program. Veterans Day Project
For the Veteran's Day Assembly this year, we are trying something new. We want to put together a slideshow of photos with family members of our students who are veterans (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.). We have set up a Gmail account to receive photos. It is email@example.com Please include the following in your email: (1) the photo attached, (2) the student’s name, (3) the name of the veteran in the photo and relationship to the student, and (4) which branch of the military they served in.
Counselors to Visit with All 9th Graders
Tomorrow the counselors will be meeting with all 9th grade students during their Geography class. Students will receive information about graduation requirements, career pathways, ways to get college credit in high school and ways to pay for college. This will be a review of the information that students received in their individual College & Career Readiness meetings they had last year with their counselor. Please review these materials with your student; it's never too early to start planning!
Play Intramural Basketball!
Basketball begins Wednesday, Oct. 12th - Remember intramural sports last about two weeks and are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays right after school from 2:45pm - 3:45pm unless otherwise specified. The next intramural sport this year is BASKETBALL! It will begin October 12th. Gather a team and sign-up ahead of time with Coach Johnson or Coach Harmer or just come and play - meet in the gym.
9th Grade SFJHS Basketball Information
Attention: All 9th grade boys or girls that want to play on the SFJHS basketball team this year. There will be a short information meeting on Friday October 7th in the girls and boys gym right after school. We will go over some important information regarding physical requirements as well as try-outs dates and times. Please talk to Coach Johnson or Coach Harmer with any questions! Lobos in Action
Congratulations to all our 7th graders for winning the spirit stick during the Field Day assembly last Friday - Way to go 7th grade! Also a shout out to our SFJHS Golf team - they have played very competitively this year and are now preparing for the district finals next week, good luck Golf Team!
