The Lobo Howl has chosen Mr. David Huff for our Teacher Spotlight this month.  We are very grateful for his work at Spanish Fork Junior High.

Mr. Huff grew up in Benjamin, Utah and went to Benjamin Elementary. His favorite class was band, and his favorite grade was 12th.

His first job was working all day during the summer thinning sugar beets. He always wanted to be a teacher growing up, and made his wish a reality by following the advice that he gives to students--- Do Your Best Every Day! He has taught at the one and only- Spanish Fork Junior High School and at Spanish Fork High School. He has been teaching for 39 years, and says he loves it!  However, it drives him CRAZY when students pop gum around him.

Mr. Huff’s favorite foods are steak and salmon.

He always liked the book Rifles for Waitie.  Mrs. Nielsen says this book won the Newbery Award in 1957 and is set during the Civil War.  No wonder Mr. Huff likes this book—he was a history teacher!  This also might explain his answer when we asked, “If you could be one person in the whole world for one week, who would it be, and why?”

“Thomas Jefferson,” he told us, “because he has always inspired me!”

Mr. Huff loves baseball, and his favorite sports team is the Dodgers. His hero is Sandy Koufax. His favorite movie is Field of Dreams.

He’s always wanted to visit China but hasn’t yet.

And finally, his favorite quote by William Penn, “Right is right even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”

Once again, we thank him for his extraordinary work here at our school, and for helping us all.
