PACK TIME CAREER PRESENTATION
On Friday, November 10, 2017, Spanish Fork Jr High had our annual Veterans Day assembly.
This assembly touched the hearts of many people in that room. We were able to hear the story of a man who has served in the army and now has children serving in the army. He talked about some of the people he knows that are in the war. His dad, his uncle, and his children now have all served and are continuing to serve today.
Congratulations to last week's winners!Braden Banks, Jamison Barrett, Dexter Bradford, Sara Chandler, Ethan Graham, Ty Reese, Callie Johnson, Molly Peterson, This week's problem is:
Laree notices that the current mileage on her car is a multiple of 1000, and is a perfect cube. She does some calculations and determines that she will have to drive another 4921 miles before the number of miles on her car is a perfect cube again. What is Laree’s current mileage?
The 7th grade Honors English students went to UVU for a field trip to see the Roots of Knowledge stained glass window display. It was amazing!
The display was awesome because there was a tree at the beginning representing the tree of life. Then there was a tree at the end which looked like a hand holding a torch, but you could tell it was a tree [representing the transfer of knowledge to future generations].
Wrestling season has begun at SFJH!!! Spanish Fork Jr. High Wrestling dueled Payson last night. The night was full of hard-fought matches. There were many beginner wrestlers that came away with big victories. The next wrestling match will be against Mt Nebo on Wednesday, Nov 15 at 3:30 pm. Come support the Wrestling Team.
In Mrs. Mendonsa’s science class, seventh-grade students experimented with the levels of density that different substances hold. They used honey, corn syrup, milk, dish soap, vegetable oil, and rubbing alcohol. First they found out what the density of each substance was. Honey had the thickest density, then corn syrup, milk, dish soap, vegetable oil, and rubbing alcohol. After finding the density of each substance, they were ready to start the experiment!
Students at Spanish Fork Junior High attended an assembly on how to use the Internet safely and smartly on November 1st.
A NetSmartz representative educated students on topics such as distracted driving, cyber bullying, and staying away from bad websites. They watched videos on why it’s dangerous to text and drive, and in how some parts of the world they have texting and walking lanes for people to freely walk and text.
