Mrs. Thompson’s Eighth-Grade English Students Curate Civil Rights Display

Submitted by david.thacker on

After reading Chris Crowe’s Getting Away with Murder: The True Story of the Emmett Till Case, Mrs. Thompson’s students chose one picture from the civil rights movement then researched the people and events featured. Using the informational text structures they’d learned in the previous unit, students created museum placards to showcase their findings.

Math Problem of the Week

Submitted by david.thacker on

A museum has three different admission costs:
$10 for Adults
$2.50 for students in 9th-12th grade
$0.50 for students in 1st-8th grade
A school wants to send 100 people (including teachers, 8th graders, and 9th graders) to the
museum. If they want to spend exactly $100 on buying 100 tickets, how many adults, 8th graders, and 9th graders should go on the trip?
