Parents and Students: Please be on the lookout for any books belonging to SFJHS Library. If your student has a fine or overdue book, they were notified this week with a reminder slip. We have a great school library, with a wonderful collection. Please help us keep it that way by returning all books. Thank you so much for your help. The Pit and the Pendulum

The Answer: The rat should chew through the rope 45 seconds before the pendulum blade reaches your chest. 

1.  You know that the rat will take 1 minute (60 seconds) to chew through the rope.

2.  The pendulum blade is 15 inches above your chest and it lowers 1 inch with each swing.  How many swings will it take the blade to reach you?  Divide the height the blade is above you (15 inches) by the number of inches it drops per swing (1 inch).  15 swings

Art Show

The Covey Center in Provo is having a reception tonight May 1st. from 6pm until 9pm. It will feature work from the all the Jr. highs from Nebo School district. The show is on the upper level of the Covey Center on Main street in Provo.   The lower level is featuring Provo high school art. For more info see Mr. Millman
