“Strike up the band!” seems to be the Spanish Fork Junior High Band’s motto. Filled with energy and enthusiasm, SFJH band students have been practicing and performing with purpose and determination, honing their craft and striving for excellence. Here’s what they’ve accomplished so far this year.
This past July SFJH students attended Summer Band Camp. Students from four different schools in Nebo district got together and performed for Pioneer Day at the Spanish Fork City Park then got together afterwards for a BBQ hosted by parent volunteers.

November is National Novel Writing Month, and Mr. Anson’s 9th grade Honors English class will be participating in this grueling challenge. The lobo leadership class is always looking for ways to improve themselves and the school around them. Recently they had a lesson about Habit 1 from The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey. They are learning the differences between "proactive" and "reactive." They discovered that while reactive traits make cool soda rockets, proactive traits are much more pleasant to have when it comes to interacting with people.
There is a reward being offered for information about a tagging incident that took place earlier this week on the west side of town. The police are asking for information from students at SFJHS since it is within the school boundaries and there is a possibility the taggers are in our school.
