Submitted by david.thacker on

Trumpets, trombones, clarinets, flutes, tubas, euphoniums, french horns, and percussion. The Spanish Fork Junior High School Concert Band is practicing for their Spring Concert. They are playing songs like “DarkHeart” which is actually a piece of music based off a book. The book is called “Dark Adventure” which is a fictional book which includes much magic. “DarkHeart” is supposed to be part of a scene where the main character is running away from the castle. According to Max Fraser, 9th grade Concert Band percussionist, “It’s really challenging, but is a fun piece.

SAGE Testing

Submitted by david.thacker on

The end of the school year often comes with stress to get your grades up, procrastinated assignments suddenly seeming more important, and frantically searching through an oversized binder to find that one missing paper. Probably the greatest of many students’ worries is SAGE Testing. Like any other overwhelmingly important test, the teachers stress to their students to get a good night’s sleep, eat a good breakfast, and bring a water bottle if they want. SAGE Testing takes information from the start of the year to the end, and puts them all into one great big test.

PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND FRIENDS,

We have two weeks of school remaining and we are working daily with students to finish assignments, tests, and projects for their classes. We ask parents to check students’ grades frequently and have conversations with them about work completion and turning in work. We want every student to succeed.

NJHS Field Trip

Submitted by david.thacker on

Members of the Spanish Fork Jr. High chapter of National Junior Honor Society participated in a service learning field trip to the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah. Seven of our seventy members made the trip with blankets the students made. We delivered no-tie fleece blankets for chemotherapy graduates. The volunteer coordinator gave the group a quick tour of the facility. We are honored to help with this great service and look forward to making more blankets next year. If you would like to help sponsor this service, please contact the advisor, Mr.
