More Musical News!

Submitted by david.thacker on

SFJH just received some more exciting news!  Our Advanced orchestra was selected to perform in the State Jr. High Orchestra Festival in Salt Lake City on March 16.

Groups performing at this event were selected through an audition process and it is a great honor to be chosen for the festival.  Festival Orchestras will receive performance comments from the judges, a clinic with one of the judges, and a plaque.

It's going to be a lot of work to get ready for this festival.  Time to get practicing!

Graham Crackers Help Students Learn

Submitted by david.thacker on

If you take a peek inside Ms. Harmer’s 7th grade Utah studies class, you might see something unusual.  Students use graham crackers to help them learn.

Ms. Harmer gives students grahams to help them learn about the three geographic regions in Utah.  Check out the students’ work.  Crackers are shaped into the state of Utah then decorated to represent the regions.

What a yummy way to learn.
