Science Fair Starts Today

Submitted by david.thacker on

If you had walked into the SFJH library today you might have thought you’d wandered into a science museum.  And in a way, you’d be right.  Science Fair is in full swing at Spanish Fork Junior.

Ninth grade science students, along with eighth-grade honors science students, were busy setting up and explaining their projects to this year’s judges.  We don’t know who the winners are yet, so check back for updates.

Denise Bufton, our amazing attendance secretary was honored on Tuesday, January 20th by the Nebo Secondary PTA Council with their Excellence in Service award. She was nominated for the award by our own SFJHS chapter of the PTA due to her outstanding service in helping students and parents in so many different ways. As the main front office secretary she is the first face parents and students see when they enter the office.  She welcome all with friendliness and a service minded can do attitude. Thank you Mrs.

Congratulations to Mrs. Vanessa Heber, our Crystal Apple award winner for the 2014/15 school year. She was presented the award by Craig Harvey of Horace Mann insurance. These are just a few of the wonderful things that her coworkers had to say about her:

"Vanessa is a passionate advocate for her students and works at a feverish pace. She maintains a warm and safe classroom environment for her students. She collaborates well with her department and always offers to share materials and resources. Heck, she even ran a mile in front of the whole school!"
