CCA Cooking Fun!!!

Submitted by david.thacker on

This week in Mrs. In Thacker's CCA classes the students got to make some easy, fun, and tasty treats. The treats that the students got to create were called “Vanishing Biscuits.” These treats were created by a mother trying to teach her young family about the true meaning of Easter, and that it is not just about the Easter bunny or about egg hunts and fun. “Vanishing biscuits” also known as “Empty Tombs” are biscuit balls stuffed with marshmallows and butter rolled in cinnamon and sugar. They are a fun Easter dessert for all ages.

This has been an especially hectic year for our school nurses. We are grateful we have Kirsten Weber who gets us through all of the COVID guidelines, consults on student health plans, assists with bumps, bruises and breaks, and continues to smile each day. We are lucky to have her. Thank you, Kirsten.

Rockin' Roller Coaster Problem

The duration of a ride on the Rockin’ Roller Coaster (RCC) is 1 minute 30 seconds. The RCC has only one train consisting of a series of linked cars, each of which carries a pair of passengers. It takes each group of passengers exactly 30 seconds to board the train and exactly 30 seconds to exit the train. In one hour, 480 people board the train, complete the ride and exit the train. Assuming there is never a seat left vacant, how many linked cars are in the RCC’s train? Be sure to explain and/or show work!
