Mrs. Gibson will be new to Spanish Fork Junior High next year and will be helping out in the counselors office. We asked Mrs. Gibson to introduce herself and this is what she had to say:

"I'm from Orem, Utah. I am a Golden Tiger from Orem High School. I received my Associate's and Bachelor's Degrees from Utah Valley University in Behavioral Sciences with an emphasis in Social Work. I am finishing up my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Utah State University and will be working with the counselors.

SFJH Future Farmers Win Big at Recent Stock Shows—Three Grand Champions!

Submitted by david.thacker on

SFJH FFA members are keeping themselves busy this summer.  And all their work is paying off with numerous awards and even some top honors.

Students exhibited hogs, cattle and sheep at the Uintah Basin Jr. Livestock Show and the Delta Stock Show. Students competed in market classes, showmanship and a judging contest.

Three students walked away with the honor of Grand Champion—one student did it in two categories!  At the Uintah show, Gage Fevold won Grand Champion Hog Showman as well as the overall Grand Champion Showman title.

Jade Rindlisbacher Finishes First at State Rodeo Competition

Submitted by david.thacker on

Spanish Fork freshman Jade Rindlisbacher placed first in the pole-bending competition at the Utah High School Rodeo Association Championship held last Saturday.

Pole-bending is a timed competition where rider and horse have to weave through a series of 6 poles place 21 feet apart on the ground.  Knocking over a pole adds five seconds to the competitor’s time while failure to follow the course causes disqualification.

Jade is featured in a great article by Jared Lloyd in the June 3rd issue of the Daily Herald.  The link is provided below.

Congratulation Jade!
